Texas AG settlement: Insurer to return $85M to policyholders

Farmers Insurance Group has agreed to return $84.4 million to policyholders in a settlement obtained by the Texas Attorney General’s office and the Texas Department of Insurance. In 2002, the Texas Attorney General’s Office filed a lawsuit against Farmers for alleged violations to the Texas Deceptive Practices Act and on behalf of the Texas Department of Insurance for alleged violations to the Texas Insurance Code.
