
The clock is ticking on the fate of the ColoWyo coal mine in northwestern Colorado, with federal officials scrambling to reopen and review mining permits issued in 2007 before a September deadline.
The mine, which supports more than 200 jobs and contributes more than $200 million a year to the economies of northwestern Colorado towns and counties, was threatened by a May 8 ruling from U.S. District Judge R. Brooke Jackson in Denver.
