Womble Carlyle announces new leader as chairman prepares to retire

Keith Vaughan, the long-time head of Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, will retire at the end of 2015, ending a 14-year run at the helm of the Triad's largest law firm. Betty Temple, who practices in the firm's Atlanta and Greenville, S.C., offices, has been named chairwoman-elect for the 550-attorney firm.
