
The Federal Communications Commission i ssued an enforcement advisory on Tuesday informing hotels that blocking personal Wi-Fi hotspots is prohibited.
The move comes as major hospitality chains attempted to block guests' personal Wi-Fi networks, claiming they posed a security threat. Travelers fought back, complaining that hotels simply wanted to charge them outrageous fees to use in-house Wi-Fi networks.
