First Wind's major solar farm on Oahu's North Shore gets review from city

First Wind's large solar farm project at its existing wind farm on Oahu's North Shore is being reviewed by the City and County of Honolulu's Department of Planning and Permitting. The 49-megawatt Kawailoa Solar project, which will be built on about 300 acres of agricultural lands within the Kawailoa Plantation owned by Kamehameha Schools, would be co-located within the existing 69-megawatt Kawailoa Wind project.
