After roughly a year and a half of discussions, E. Stewart Jones will merge his family-owned law firm in Troy with Hacker Murphy LLP, creating a firm with 14 attorneys, 12 staff members and three offices.
The merger, effective New Year's Day, will create E. Stewart Jones Hacker Murphy LLP. Jones will lead the firm with James Hacker.
Jones, one of the region's highest-profile criminal defense attorneys, said the merger, was about expanding the firm's focus in response to the changing legal profession.
