​More than 250 Hawaii nonprofits compete for state grants

More than 250 local nonprofits are competing for grants-in-aid funding from the state Legislature this session. Combined, the organizations are requesting about $185 million for fiscal year 2016. Last year, about $10 million was distributed to a select few.
