
Bellevue businessman Tom Hazelrigg III, convicted of two counts of tax evasion, does not want to go to prison.
On Thursday, he pleaded with a judge for nearly an hour not to incarcerate him but received a 54-month sentence. The next day his attorney filed a notice stating he's appealing the sentence to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
The sentencing judge denied a federal prosecutor's request to immediately send Hazelrigg to prison, and Hazelrigg is free on bond awaiting…
