
Tom Hazelrigg III pleaded for nearly an hour Thursday not to be imprisoned, but it was to no avail.
A federal judge sentenced Hazelrigg, who was convicted of tax fraud, to four-and-a-half years in federal prison and ordered him to pay nearly $1.1 million in restitution for unpaid taxes, interest and penalties.
Judge Thomas Zilly called it "a tragic case," and admonished Hazelrigg for his duplicitous behavior, saying the Bellevue real estate developer and hard-money lender did not pay back taxes…
