
A bill introduced in the Hawaii state Senate is proposing to double the overtime wage rates for employees who work on state holidays, but it may be amended to focus on certain holidays.
Senate Bill 234 would increase overtime compensation for employees to three times their normal wage rates. Typically, workers receive time-and-one-half their regular rate when they work on holidays.
