Vidalia lawyer pleads not guilty to charges he stole $1M in scheme

Vidalia lawyer Wilson Smith has pleaded not guilty to charges he stole more than $1 million in a scheme to settle clients' cases without their knowledge and to convert settlement proceeds for his own use. Smith, 63, a personal injury attorney, pleaded not guilty Tuesday before a federal judge in Statesboro, Ga., reports Savannah Morning News.
