A new college basketball rivalry may have more at stake than wins and losses between the University of Texas and Virginia Commonwealth University. UT officials have filed several trademark requests relating to the hire of former VCU men's hoops coach Shaka Smart around the word "havoc", Smart's signature brand of high-pressure, full-court defense.
First reported Thursday by the Richmond Times-Dispatch, UT has moved to trademark "Horns Havoc" and "House of Havoc."
