State awards $28M in grants-in-aid funding for Hawaii nonprofits

More than a third of Hawaii nonprofits that applied for state grants-in-aid funding had projects have been approved by the state Legislature. About 250 organizations requested about $185 million for fiscal year 2016 for capital improvement project and operating grant proposals.
