
The Archdiocese of Milwaukee says its final reorganization plan will increase the number of priest sexual-abuse victims receiving compensation and will avoid the possibility of continued litigation that could cost millions of dollars.
The basic facts of the plan were announced Aug. 4 by the Archdiocese but filing the plan Monday night represents a big step toward the organization emerging from Chapter 11 bankruptcy, said Jerry Topczewski, chief of staff for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.
