Outlook

Outlook through Monday June 8: the current south swell will slowly diminish through Wednesday. A slightly smaller south swell arriving Wednesday is expected to peak below advisory levels Thursday, then gradually diminish through Saturday. A small long-period east swell, generated by hurricane andres in the east Pacific, is expected to arrive Wednesday and gradually build through the end of the week, potentially producing advisory level surf along east facing shores. A moderate northwest swell is expected to arrive Friday, peak Saturday, then gradually diminish. Surf heights are forecast heights of the face or front of waves. The surf forecast is based on the significant wave height, the average height of the one third largest waves, at the locations of the largest breakers. Some waves may be more than twice as high as the significant wave height. Expect to encounter rip currents in or near any surf zone.
