
Three eateries at Hawaii's Ala Moana Center food court remained closed Monday as fire investigators worked to determine what caused a fire late last week that sent thick smoke billowing out of the state's largest regional mall.
Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Kendall Ching said the fire, which caused about $700,000 in damages to the mall and $20,000 to its contents, was first reported at 2:37 p.m. on Friday and extinguished nearly two hours later at 4:46 p.m. by 42 fire personnel from 11 companies.
