Law school where Anthony Kennedy once taught reflects on his landmark ruling

Friday was a big day at University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law, where U.S. Supreme Court justice Anthony Kennedy once taught. Kennedy, born and raised in Sacramento, wrote the historic majority opinion that made same-sex marriage legal nationwide. Though generally conservative, he is widely considered the court's swing vote. In particular, he has shown a willingness in prior opinions to adopt a broader definition of marriage.
