Hawaii’s hotel occupancy rate edges upward as average room rates dip
Oahu hotels were 80 percent full last week as the statewide occupancy rate edged upward while room rates dipped slightly, compared to a year ago.
Oahu led in occupancy while Maui, as usual, was the priciest place to stay among all the Hawaiian Islands, according to Hospitality Advisors.
Statewide, the average hotel occupancy rate was 75.9 percent for the week ending April 25, up 1.9 percentage points. The average room rate of $220.61 was down 1.6 percent from a year ago.
