Boulder County commissioners shorten moratorium on oil and gas permits

Boulder County commissioners on Thursday yanked the county's years-long moratorium on accepting applications for new oil and gas operations in the county, which was set to expire on July 1, 2018, and replaced it with another one set to run until Nov. 18 of this year.

The commissioners said about six months are needed to look at amending the county's existing regulations and develop a plan for new ones, including reviewing permit and impact fees.
