Exclusive: Forest Park files for Chapter 11 protection for Dallas, Fort Worth hospitals

Two more Forest Park Medical Center hospitals have filed for Chapter 11 protection in the latest twist for the financially beleaguered chain of upscale doctor-owned hospitals. Forest Park Medical Center’s hospitals in Dallas and Fort Worth were slated for foreclosure auction on Dec. 1 until the Chapter 11 filing late Monday. New bar exam supported by UNM Law school

New Mexico’s recent adoption of the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE) could ultimately increase out of state business for local law firms, as well as facilitate recruitment efforts. On Nov. 1, the state formally decided to replace the bar exam, previously used to admit attorneys to practice in the state, with the UBE — which is a standardized exam developed by the National Conference of Bar Examiners. Former Gourmet Express owner convicted in tax fraud case

A federal jury on Wednesday convicted San Antonio businessman Robert Warren Scully, 70, in a $3.9 million tax fraud scheme, U.S. Attorney Richard L. Durbin Jr. announced. Jurors found Scully guilty of conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to commit wire fraud and three counts of wire fraud.
