Colorado pays tribute to Justice Scalia; political battle looms over successor

Coloradans are marking the passing of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, who died Saturday.

Gov. John Hickenlooper ordered that flags around the state be lowered to half-staff on public buildings until sunset on the day of Scalia's interment.

(Hickenlooper had previously ordered state flags lowered on Monday as a mark of respect for Mesa County Deputy Derek Geer, who was fatally shot in the line of duty; the new order extends that previous order.)
