Case of the missing Chinese dinosaur fossils gets Canadian businessman in Arizona hot water

A Canadian man has been sentenced to five years probation and fined $25,000 for smuggling dinosaur fossils and fossil eggs out of China and trying to illegally sell them at an Arizona gem and mineral show.

Jun Yang, 36, of British Columbia, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Cindy Jorgenson in Phoenix.

He previously pleaded guilty to smuggling charges. He was accused of trying to sell a $15,000 Psittacosaurus fossil and 16 Hadrosaur egg fossils priced at $450 each at an Arizona gem show
