Maker of ZhuZhu Pets sues Stinson law firm

Local toymaker Cepia, which hit pay dirt with its ZhuZhu Pets in 2009, is suing the Stinson Leonard Street law firm, claiming that millions of dollars in overbilling.

Cepia said it was billed $3.4 million in attorney fees and $1.4 million in expenses from December 2009 to October 2015, and claims the law firm breached its fiduciary duty and engaged in legal malpractice while representing the toy maker in legal matters.

Cepia blames Stinson partners Michael Kaplan and Philip Kaplan in particular…
