Liberty Mutual to pay $925,000 over its 'accident forgiveness' ads

Auto insurer Liberty Mutual Group Inc. will pay $925,000 in a settlement with three Southern California district attorney's offices over not disclosing in its ads that its “accident forgiveness” program was not available in California.

The civil complaint was jointly filed this week in Riverside County Superior Court by district attorneys in Los Angeles, Riverside and San Diego counties and alleges unfair competition by Liberty Mutual.
