One of South Florida's top economic development officials is stepping down

Beacon Council President and CEO Larry K. Williams announced that he will step down and return to Atlanta, the city he was recruited away from.

Miami-Dade County's nonprofit economic development arm tapped Williams for the top job in 2013 after recruiting him from the Metro Atlanta Chamber, where he was VP for technology industry development. Williams said he's accepted a job as president and CEO of the Technology Association of Georgia, a professional association with about 30,000 members.
