Homeless group suing Denver asks courts to certify them as a class

An attorney representing a group of homeless men and women has asked the court to certify the group as a class in a lawsuit filed against the city of Denver claiming the rights of homeless have been violated by “the homeless sweeps” conducted by police and city workers.

The motion asking the courts to certify the class of all persons in the city of Denver who were, are, or will be homeless at any time after May 12, 2012, was filed today in U.S. District Court in Denver..
