Stoel Rives has a new managing partner

Stoel Rives, a Portland-based law firm with a large Sacramento office, has named its next firm-wide managing partner. James Torgerson follows Bob Van Brocklin, who has served as managing partner since 2008. Stoel counts 400 lawyers in offices across seven states. The Sacramento office had 26 lawyers as of Jan. 5, and ranked No. 12 in last year's Sacramento Business Journal list of law firms.
