Meet the Charlottean leading North Carolina Advocates for Justice

Bill Powers has a new challenge on his plate - lead the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, an association aiming to protect people's rights through community, education and advocacy.

Powers, a Charlotte-based criminal defense attorney, was elected president of NCAJ in June for 2016 to 2017. In the new role, Powers will oversee NCAJ's executive committee and help search for a new chief executive. The current CEO Dick Taylor is retiring.
