Boston law firm Ropes & Gray has petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to review its federal lawsuit accusing Backpage.com of supporting the online child-sex trade.

Aero-Tech Engineering adding large warehouse to new Maize HQ

Aero-Tech Engineering Inc. is expanding again, about three months after the company relocated its operations to the Maize Industrial Park.

The aerospace manufacturer has green-lighted a project to construct a 25,000-square-foot assembly warehouse.

Financial adviser pleads guilty to defrauding Eddie Murphy's ex-wife

A man who billed himself as financial adviser to the rich and famous pleaded guilty to 11 counts of fraud on Wednesday for a scheme that took in former Granite Bay resident Nicole Murphy, the ex-wife of comedian Eddie Murphy.

Troy David Stratos, 50, who has been in custody since 2011, also pleaded guilty to two counts of money laundering, and one count of obstruction of justice in federal court in Sacramento.

H&R Block starts new fiscal year in a bigger hole than usual

H&R Block Inc. typically posts a loss in its fiscal-year first quarter, but this year's was higher than last year and more than analysts expected, putting the tax preparation company in a bigger hole than normal.
