Oklahoma natural gas giant Chesapeake Energy (NYSE: CHK) has reached an out-of-court settlement with Fort Worth billionaire Ed Bass and 20 other landowners just as a trial was set to begin over millions of dollars in unpaid royalties.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that no financial details of the settlement have been released. The deal was reached over the weekend.
