DraftKings, FanDuel agree to cease operations

DraftKings and FanDuel have agreed to cease operations in Alabama, following an order from Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange.

"I am pleased to report that fantasy sports operators DraftKings and FanDuel have complied with my order that they halt paid contests within the State of Alabama," Strange said in a press release.

Hickenlooper appoints district judges for Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert counties

Gov. John Hickenlooper today appointed Ben Leutwyler and Robert Lung as District Court judges in the 18th Judicial District, which includes Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln counties.

Leutwyler and Lung will fill the vacancies created by the retirements of the Honorable Marilyn L. Antrim and the Honorable Richard Caschette.

Uber settles driver class-action lawsuit for $100 million

Uber has settled two class-action lawsuits in California and Massachusetts that will allow it to continue to classify its drivers as independent contractors – but at a cost of up to $100 million in settlement money.

Sacramento's longtime U.S. attorney announces resignation

Benjamin Wagner, the U.S. attorney in Sacramento since 2009, on Wednesday announced his resignation.

Wagner, 56, said he will be seeking employment at Northern California law firms following his service. His last day will be at the end of this month.
