President Barack Obama’s presidential library will be built on Chicago’s South Side, but his foundation plans to develop “joint programs” with the University of Hawaii and other “local partners,” Obama’s sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, said Tuesday.
The Barack Obama Foundation announced the Chicago site early Tuesday with a video about the neighborhood that ended with the president and first lady Michelle Obama seated on a sofa talking about what Chicago means to them.
