The Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University in Dallas will receive $2 million to fund the Ellen K. Solender Endowed Chair in Women and the Law.
The donation from Solender, an SMU law alumna and emeritus faculty member, will support a Dedman faculty member to encourage research, teaching and advocacy in legal education aimed at advancing equality for women. The gift provides $1.5 million for endowment and $500,000 for operational support until the endowment matures.
