Michael Kelly Miller, the former owner of Waldo Rehabilitation Health and Wellness in Kansas City, was sentenced to 15 months in prison after admitting to health care fraud.
Miller pleaded guilty in April to submitting $3,083,454 in fraudulent Medicare claims for nerve-block injections. Medicare paid the clinic $879,582.
According to a release, those injections were not medically necessary for the patients' health under Medicare guidelines.
