On Friday, a federal judge ruled in favor of a Mobile couple who sued to challenge Alabama's refusal to recognize their 2008 marriage performed in California, according to a report from the Associated Press.
Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange's office immediately challenged by filing a motion requesting U.S. District Judge Callie V.S. Granade to put the decision on hold, the report said.
