An Oregon Health & Science University surgeon has landed one of his industry's top honors.
Dr. Kim Burchiel was named winner of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons distinguished service award.
"His statesmanship, leadership and devotion to the specialty of neurosurgery have been particularly inspiring for the many who have had the opportunity to work with him," the group wrote.
