Activist shareholder: Don't expect compromise in Epiq proxy fight

George Young, a partner at St. Denis Villere & Co., said the proxy dispute underway at Epiq Systems Inc. isn't very likely to end in a compromise because the court battle crossed a line in the sand.

Young said Epiq didn't just go after Villere & Co. for proposing a competing slate of Epiq board nominees. It also went after 20 of his clients, suing and deposing them. Epiq questioned the investors' authorization of Villere to vote their ownership interest.
