Real estate website reports rise in Honolulu small-business sales

Brokers using the BizBuySell.com website sold 11 small businesses in Honolulu last year, up from seven in 2013 and two in 2012, the online marketplace reported this week. It said the median price of those sales was $280,000, compared to $78,400 in 2013 and $87,500 in 2012. Of the 11 businesses sold in 2014, four were retail, five were service, one was manufacturing and one fell into the "other" category.
