Sally Yates was confirmed May 13 as deputy attorney general, the No. 2 spot at the U.S. Justice Department.
Yates served until earlier this year as U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia in Atlanta, a post she held since 2010. President Barack Obama nominated her for the new post in December. She will serve alongside U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch, who was confirmed to the post last month.
