Dov Charney, the former chief executive of American Apparel Inc., has filed a defamation lawsuit against investor Standard General LP, which had refused to support his return to the retailer.
In a complaint filed in in Los Angeles state court, Charney is seeking up to $30 million in compensatory and punitive damages, saying Standard General falsely claimed he was fired for cause based on the results of an independent investigation by an outside law firm, reported Bloomberg.
