Former Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie, who has strong ties to the University of Hawaii Manoa, where he attained a master's degree in sociology and a doctorate in American Studies, has ruled himself out of becoming the next athletics director for his alma mater, he told PBN this week in an exclusive interview.
"[I'm] not interested in the AD position at UH," he said. "It's tough enough to get chalk at the Nuuanu [YMCA]. The closest I will ever get to that position is at the Nuuanu Y at my locker."
