
Kroger Co. has settled lawsuits related to a 2011 listeria outbreak resulting from victims eating cantaloupe it sold.
Cincinnati-based Kroger (NYSE: KR), the nation's largest operator of traditional supermarkets, and Edinburg, Texas-based Frontera Produce settled 66 lawsuits. They didn't say how much they paid to settle the cases. Claims against another defendant, Primus Group Inc., were dismissed.
A Kroger spokesman said the company won't comment on the settlement at this point.
