Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union has lowered the minimum account balance for its savings account from $100 to $5 in an effort to bring in more members and increase loans.
The Honolulu-based credit union announced through its newsletter to members that its regular savings account minimum would drop to $5 starting Feb. 16. President and CEO Vince Otsuka was quoted saying that the credit union wanted to help more people become members.
